Amazing Dreamers

April 29th, 2014

There are some amazing dreamers out there, people who have dedicated their life’s work to dreaming. As a new feature for the IASD members’ magazine DreamTime, I’ll be interviewing these dreamers.

Here’s the first one, with Dr Patricia Garfield who wrote Creative Dreaming forty years ago – a book which inspired and encouraged me when I came across it when I was doing undergrad research into lucid dreaming back in 1996.

Youngest lucid dream author?

April 12th, 2014

Lucid dreaming triggers creativity, and my 4-year-old daughter woke up the other week announcing she wanted to make a book of her favourite lucid dreams like asking a silver crown to fly her to the moon, whizzing down the biggest water slide in the world and being a 91-year-old surrounded by trees. She went for it and has collaged lots of pages using glitter glue, bits of crepe paper, wool, sequins and acrylic paints, as well as cutting out and sticking in pictures of witches and unicorns she coloured in with felt-tips. If the dream can be described very simply, she writes it, and if not, I write the dream in silver pen around her artwork. Go Yasmin!

Healing Lucid Dreaming Workshop

April 7th, 2014

This is going to be really nice – Mary Ziemer and I are leading a workshop together on Lucid Dreaming For Physical & Psycho-Spiritual Healing at the Dream Research Institute in London on Friday 25th April, 11-4pm.

Lucid dreaming gives us the unique opportunity of doing dreamwork while we’re actually in the dream. This workshop will explore how we can bring conscious awareness into a dream to initiate deep healing on both physical and psycho-spiritual levels.
